Acts 2:3-4
They saw what appeared to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
God brought something to my attention this morning: only one of the disciples actually went to the cross with Jesus, but every one of them received the Holy Spirit. Jesus didn’t hold their weaknesses against them or blast them for their unbelief. Instead, He spent the next 40 days strengthening them, healing their hearts, and encouraging them that something great was coming!
Jesus knows we’re all gonna fall, doubt, deny or run, but He forgives us and wants us to forgive ourselves also! It’s not about how fast or early in life you come to Jesus; it’s the fact that you make it there at all that He is most concerned about! I may have denied like Peter, doubted like Thomas, or ran like the rest of them, but when I finally decided to go to the cross, Jesus was there with love in His eyes and forgiveness in His heart!! He is waiting there right now for you!!!!!
