Proverbs 6 Scripture Meditations by Stephen Taylor

Proverbs 6:6-8

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.

Who gives the ant this understanding? Who teaches it how and when to gather? Who equips the ant to carry this out and provides it with the strength carry on? God, that's Who! And if God gives, teaches, equips, and provides the ant with all that it needs to not only survive but thrive, then how much more will He do it for those He created in His image? How much more valuable to Him are we than ants!? If God did not withhold His Son from us, then why would we assume He wouldn't equip us with the abilities to serve the Son He gave us?

Remember that God doesn't give us things that will destroy us or draw us away from Him, but He does give us everything we need to live a Godly life here and now. He gives us this through the power and person of the Holy Spirit. The question isn't, does He give us this, but will we receive and walk in Him? Jesus told His disciples to stay in Jerusalem until they were clothed with power from on High, meaning receiving the Holy Spirit!

But what kind of power would the Holy Spirit bring? Power to uproot the Romans? Power to monopolize the faith? Power in a physical sense? No, my friends, it is power to live a life worthy of being called a child of God. Power to say no to sin and yes to the Spirit. Power to deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow Him. Power to walk the narrow road in faith, all the while praising His Holy Name!

True power is not measured by human standards but by God's, and we all know His ways are much higher and greater than ours! So today, let's walk in the power of the Spirit and glorify our God!

Luke 24:49- "I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."

2 Peter 1:2,3- May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.

God bless! I love you all, but His love busted open the grave and set us free! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!

Proverbs 6:16-19

There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

Thank You, Jesus!!!!! As I was reading this, God revealed to me that these were all traits of Judas and the men who betrayed and condemned Jesus to die! No wonder the Lord hates these traits so much! The men who condemned His Son displayed these traits better than anyone! Before I came to know the Lord, I would fit into each category at different times in my life, and I wonder if God viewed me the same way He did the men who tortured and murdered His Son!!

Thankfully, Jesus died and rose again for Judas just as much as for John or Peter!! We can be forgiven and made new because Jesus loves us so much, He was willing to take the weight of the world on His shoulders and break every chain that hindered us!!!! I don’t believe Jesus went to the cross to judge us but to save us with His love!

God always had a right to judge us, but it wasn’t until the cross that we had a chance to stand up under that judgement!! Only by the blood of Jesus!! I challenge you in a world full of Judases to be a Jesus!!!

I love you all, God bless, and Glory to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!!!!!!
