Colossians 2:15 Devotion by Stephen Taylor

Colossians 2:15

And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

I absolutely love this verse. It fires me up! It encourages me and reminds me that the Gospel isn’t weak or soft but that it’s more powerful than anything this world can throw at you. Jesus took the cross, the very thing meant to destroy Him, and turned it around on them, embarrassing and defeating the evil of this world! God is calling His people to walk in that same boldness and power!

Don’t get boldness and being pushy confused. Boldness isn’t overbearing or dominating. It’s a conviction and passion about what you know is truth and sharing it with those around you! God doesn’t tell us to shove the Gospel down someone’s throat but to share it with them lovingly, honestly, boldly, and Holy Spirit-led!!! Being meek and humble doesn’t mean weakness. Christ was meek and humble, and I promise you there is no weakness there!!! The Gospel is our battle cry, and Christ is calling His people to respond!!! The battle rages, the lines are being drawn, and God has given us the weapons to fight with!! The enemy has been disarmed. We have been empowered by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of our testimony!!!!

Be a warrior, Be humble, Be meek, Be bold, and be a God-fearing, Jesus-following, Holy Spirit-filled child of God!!!

I love you all. God bless. Glory to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit!!!!
