Ecclesiastes 3:1 Devotion by Stephen Taylor

Ecclesiastes 3:1

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

I’m in a season of wait. How about you? There are many different times and seasons throughout our lives. Some are more enjoyable than others, but God can use all of them for our growth and our good. Right now, I’m in a season of “be still and know that I am God.”

Now, for any of you that know me, stillness is not a word I’m accustomed to or comfortable with, but the Lord isn’t telling me to be patient and wait as a punishment to me but rather to prepare me for the next part of the journey. It’s easy to fall into that trap of, “I must have done something wrong. That’s why I’m in a holding pattern.” But the truth is that sometimes, it’s not us that He is waiting on but rather the timing of everything to be perfect and line up. God’s not gonna set us up for failure but rather wants to give us the best chance to succeed.

On the flip side, sometimes, it is us or something in us that He is needing to heal or change. Sometimes, we have old hurts or wounds that need to be dealt with before we can step into the next role. Or maybe it’s a lingering sin issue from our past. Either way, it has to be addressed before we can take that next step. Or maybe you're in a season of go, go, go. Ask the Lord for the strength, endurance, and encouragement needed to persevere in your walk. Our Papa will equip us with the abilities needed for the task at hand. All we have to do is come humbly and honestly before Him and ask!

Regardless of what season or time of life you are in, let us never forget that God is good, that He is faithful. He is for us, not against us, that He will never leave us or forsake us, that Jesus Christ is alive and well, that the Holy Spirit has been given to us as a down deposit of things to come, and that the blood of Christ covers all our sins and breaks every chain! Despite what it may look like, because of Him, our seasons are marked by victory!

1 Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

He is worthy! God bless! I love you all! Glory, Honor, and Praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit who guides the willing!
