Hosea 10:12 Devotion by Stephen Taylor

Hosea 10:12

Sow righteousness for yourselves, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers his righteousness on you.

Sowing and reaping have been heavy on my heart this week, so it’s no surprise the Lord brought this to me today. For a while, I thought I could sow for the flesh and reap the reward of the Spirit, but that’s so not true. I would sow lust and try to reap a wife, or sow discord and try to reap peace. You can’t sow sin and reap blessings. The two don’t come from the same place.

I feel like sowing is done more behind the scenes than in the public arena. What you sow behind closed doors you will reap in public! One thing I have learned is that I can’t just sow any old seed, but I have to go to the ultimate Harvester, Jesus, and sow His seed into my life! My seed is sinful and tainted, so if I continue to sow that, I’m gonna reap the same, and the cycle will continue. But if I seek the Lord and allow Him to give me His seed to plant, I’m going to reap love, His righteousness, peace, kindness, compassion, mercy, grace, and so much more.

The best news is His seed is free to us; all you gotta do is spend time with Him and ask!!! It says, “for it is time to seek the Lord,” which is a command but also a promise. Because we know if we seek Him, we will find Him, and once found, He can’t be lost or taken!!

Everything I allow into my life is a seed, and a seed’s only job is to grow and produce something like itself. So, I have to ask, what’s growing in your heart? Is it from the One who gave all for you or the one who wants to take it all from you? The time is now, to seek, to sow, and to reap!

Be humble, Be honest, Be decisive, Be forgiving, and most importantly, Be more like Jesus each day!!!

I love you all, God bless, and glory to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit!!!
