John 14 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

John 14:6

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

I could type for days and not be able to list all the things I’m thankful for this year. So many blessings and so much to give God glory for! Last night, He brought this verse to mind, and it reminded me how thankful I am that Jesus made it really simple for the remedial people like me. There is only one Way, one Truth, and one Life, and that is Jesus!!! I love how clear He makes it! There isn’t this way or that way; there is only His way!!!

Jesus gives us a definitive answer to the confusing question, how do I get to Heaven? Boom!!! You ready for this??? “The answer is Me,” He says!!! There aren’t hoops to jump through or enough good deeds to get you there. Just choose Him!!! Jesus made the most precious thing in the world, Himself, the easiest thing for us to obtain!!! It’s not do good and then come to Jesus, but rather come to Jesus and let Him show you how to do good!!!

This year has been crazy, but it’s never been out of His control! Because of the Father’s love, the Son’s sacrifice, and the Holy Spirit’s Presence, we can face tomorrow and face it with confidence!!! This year, the world has shown it can take a lot from us, but it can’t take the love of Jesus from us!!! He beat this world on its terms and then came back for each one of us!!!

Be focused, Be thankful, Be loving, and most importantly, be more like Jesus!!! I love you all, God bless, and glory to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit!!!

John 14:12

“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”

This isn’t an option but a responsibility of all believers!! I read this last night and was like, “What a great promise but also what a big responsibility!!” Jesus says “they WILL do.” To me, that means It’s not an option, and He expects it from His people.

This verse is talking about quantity not quality, like no one could ever match Jesus. We all know that! But our reach in the world has grown dramatically since He walked this earth 2000 years ago! We are able to reach more people in farther ends of the world, and we’re expected to! I believe the works Jesus is talking about here are not just miraculous healings and miracles but also accurate, sound teaching of Scripture, helping people who stray off the path, rebuking people who try to pervert the Gospel, intercessory prayer, and loving the unlovable!!

When He went to the Father, we got yet another great gift from Him, and that is the Holy Spirit, who will guide us and help us accomplish this!!! We could never surpass Jesus or what he did, but we can sure show Him and His power to the world! The world is going to judge us by what we do and say, so let’s give them something to talk about!!!

I love you all, God bless, and Glory to God!!!!!

John 14:27

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

Only the Prince of Peace can give you true peace. It's not for sale, it can't be earned, and it can't be duplicated or faked. It's a gift He gives to those who are His; only the One who owns the gift can give it. We can only give out of what we have, and since peace is not of us, we can't give it out, but we can lead people to Him, and there they will receive their peace.

Christ doesn't just offer us a little piece of peace but real peace with God through the storms around us and inside of us. He offers us a life of peace, not free from hardship, pain, and loss but a life filled with His Spirit, and where the Spirit of God is, there is peace.

Although we can't manufacture this peace, we do have to make a decision whether to live in it or not. We must first receive Christ, and then we will receive His peace. But then we have another choice: will we trust Him, serve Him, and rest in His peace, or will we give it away to worry, doubt, fear, or sin? I don't believe Christ's gifts can be taken from us, but I do believe we can give them away. So today, will you hold fast to the gift of peace He has given you or trade it in for the unrest this world offers us?

John 16:33- "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

God bless! I love you all, but His love gives us peace beyond far beyond what we deserve. Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!

John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Thank You, Jesus, for giving us your peace! Peace that surpasses all understanding, peace that guards our hearts, peace with God and within our own hearts and minds! This peace is beautiful, it's powerful, and it is available to you and me today! It is not a far-off mystic thing but real and tangible, right before us but only found in Jesus Christ!

I love how Jesus clarifies it for us. He says His peace is not of this world, and so it is not like this world's false or perverted sense of peace. Peace from the world is faulty, fleeting, and indefinite at best. But the peace Christ offers is eternally powerful and continual! We see that peace is a gift Christ gives. It is not earned, nor is it deserved, but it is something that He wants each one of us to have. He wants us to have peace with God and thus not have to suffer the wrath of God and eternity outside of His Presence. He also wants us to have peace within ourselves, even in the hardest of times. His peace is not predicated upon our surroundings or situations. It is based upon Him, the unchanging and unwavering King of kings and Lord of lords.

Lastly, Christ gives us a choice. He says this peace is available in me for you, but you have to choose whether to receive and walk in my peace or reject it and walk in fear. The last line of this verse is crucial for us to know because it shows we have the choice. The blessing has been given, but it's our choice whether to receive it and walk in it. So today, will you receive His peace or the world's fear? Remember, only one of the two will lead you toward Christ. The other will drag you away from Him! True peace is found in Christ alone; will you be found in Him?

Philippians 4:6,7- Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 3:15- Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

God bless! I love you all, but His love brings peace to the chaos! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!

John 14:27

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

The peace Christ offers us is not just a feeling or a state of mind. It isn’t fleeting, nor is it fickle. It is not based upon us, nor is it dependent upon us, but it is true peace as it comes from the fountain of peace, the foundation of our faith, Jesus Christ!

This peace Christ offers us is not just for today but for all eternity, for the peace Christ offers us is peace with the Father through the Son! Our sins brought animosity and distance between us and our God, but Christ closed the gap through His sacrifice and resurrection. He paid it all on the cross and made the only way for us to be at peace with our perfect, holy, and righteous Heavenly Father. How great a gift this is! One we truly can’t fathom with our finite minds but one we must embrace and rejoice in! No longer must we stand outside of the Father’s house longingly looking in, but now because of Jesus, we can run inside and jump into the arms of our Father, unashamed and unhindered. Thank You, Jesus, for the greatest peace a man can know, this peace with the Father that lives in the heart and minds of every redeemed child of God. If you belong to Christ, then you belong to peace and let no man or being convince you otherwise!

Colossians 1:19,20- For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.

God bless! I love you all, but His love is perfect peace! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
