Proverbs 24:16 Devotion by Stephen Taylor

Proverbs 24:16

for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.

I love this verse, and for someone that falls a lot, it’s such a reassuring reminder that we don’t have to stay down. To me, half of learning how to walk is learning how to fall, and this verse tells me I’m gonna fall, but I can fall with confidence.

I thought about it like this: the righteous man falls numerous times and still rises righteous because of Who He serves and Who lives in Him!! The wicked, on the other hand, stumbles only once and is never heard of again.

We are only made righteous by the blood of Jesus, not by works we did but the work He did on the cross!!! Moses fell out of favor in Egypt, but God raised him up to lead the Hebrews out of there. David fell in love with another man’s wife, but God raised him up to be a man after His own heart. Saul fell off his horse, but God raised up Paul to teach preach and write some of the greatest works in the New Testament!!!

It’s not about how we fall, where we fall, or what we fall into, but rather Who we rely on to raise us back up!!! Do we trust in ourselves or in our Risen King who came to earth to redeem and restore us to the Father? These great men of the Bible fell, but they didn’t just fall and stay there. They fell into the forgiving, merciful, open arms of the Father, and there is no place else I would rather fall

Be bright, Be bold, be a light, be humble, be surrendered, and be more like Jesus!!!

I love you all, God bless, and glory to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit!!!!
