Isaiah 60:17
Instead of bronze, I will bring you gold and silver in place of iron. Instead of wood, I will bring you bronze and iron in place of stones. I will make peace your governor and well-being your ruler.
We serve the God of abundance and upgrades! What a beautiful reminder that the gifts He gives us are better than anything we could have achieved or acquired on our own! He blesses His people richly, and it’s not because we deserve it or have earned it but because He is love. I’m not talking about things or stuff but true riches that are only found in a personal relationship with Him!
Look at these upgrades He reminded me of : I sought sobriety but He gave me salvation, I wanted happiness but He gave me joy, I needed answers but He gave me the Truth, I sought comfort but He gave me Christ!
How sad my life would be if I only got what I asked for! How merciful and gracious our Father is to give us what we need more than what we want. I have said it before, and I will say it again, our ceiling for ourselves isn’t even close to God’s basement for us! He has so much more for us than we can imagine. The problem isn’t with Him but with us. We have to be willing to step out of the boat in order to walk on the water. I can’t stay in the boat to accomplish that!
What a tragedy it would be if the thing or person we have been praying for has been right at our doorstep the whole time, but it doesn’t look the way we think it should, so we miss it and never open the door. God clearly states that He doesn’t move like we move, act like we act, think like we think, so why do we try to rationalize the Creator of Everything Ever? Let’s lay it at His feet today and rest in the fact that He never has and will never leave or forsake us, nor tell us a lie! He is the Great I Am!
Isaiah 55:8-13-“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my Word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thornbush, will grow the juniper, and instead of briers, the myrtle will grow. This will be for the LORD’s renown, for an everlasting sign, that will endure forever.”
