“The tenth day of this seventh month is the
Day of Atonement. Hold a sacred assembly and deny yourselves, and present a
food offering to the Lord. Do not do any work on that
day, because it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement is made for you before
the Lord your God.”
– Leviticus 23:27-28
Father, as the Israelites, presented a
gift of food to celebrate their temporary atonement at the cost of an animal
sacrifice, I give You the gift of myself. My forever atonement came at the cost
of Jesus’ life, and so my life given to You is the only reasonable response.
Take it and help me to make it a pleasing offering to You.
