1 Corinthians 3:11
For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
What are you building on? It better be Jesus, or you better watch out, because it’s gonna crumble. One of the first things I found out when I came to know the Lord was that I couldn’t ride someone else’s coat tails into eternity. I thought that since my mom and Jesus were best friends, that automatically got me in. Boy, was I wrong, I quickly learned that the only thing that can save, guide, and protect me is a personal relationship with Jesus.
See, Jesus doesn’t want me to live in the house my mom built on Him but rather move out and build my own house on Him!
We should learn from those around us how they have built their relationship with Him and then put those things into action!! Our lives with Him can’t be lived vicariously through those around us but through a daily dying to self and rising with Him!
I think about it like this: I have some of the most amazing, Christ-filled people loving on me, and I’m so thankful for each one of you!!! But even if I bottled up all the hope, love, encouragement, and kindness they will pour into me over a lifetime, it still wouldn’t be a fraction of what I feel and receive from Jesus each day! We are just vessels; we’re not the Source. I encourage you to get to know the Source personally and build something that will outlast everything!!!
Be diligent, Be obedient, Be moldable, Be humble, and Be more like Jesus each and every day!!!
