1 John 2:6 Scripture Meditation by Stephen Taylor

1 John 2:6

Whoever claims to live in Him must live as Jesus did.

God has been putting this on my heart for a couple days now, and I felt it was time to share it. Jesus was not afraid to offend anyone, and I mean this in the best way possible. He didn’t offend people to hurt them or to demoralize them, but He was not afraid to speak the truth in love, and neither should we be.

Jesus knew that sometimes, you have to ruffle a few feathers to save the bird!!! He would rather have a Heaven full of “offended people” than a Hell full of un-offended people! Too often, I don’t express my point of view because I don’t want to offend or upset anyone, but that’s wrong. Jesus knew there were souls at stake, and He was willing to offend you to save yours, and we should do the same!!

See, if I’m offending you to hurt you or tear you down, then I’m wrong and that’s a sin, but if I speak the truth straight from God’s Word, then I’m imitating Christ! It’s all about the heart behind the action!! We live in a world in which you can’t say this, or you can’t say that, but that’s not what we are called to do. God’s Word tells us numerous times to stand firm and speak the truth in love!

When something offends me, it is usually because the Holy Spirit is convicting me, and of course, I don’t like it, but that’s how I grow! My point is: don’t be mean and nasty about it, but stand firm on God’s Word and Jesus’ love! If we never draw a line in the sand, how will we know if we cross it??

I love you all, God bless you, and Glory to God!!!
