Ephesians 6 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Ephesians 6:11-18

Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Every morning I pray on the Armor of God. One of the things that has stuck out to me for a while now is that it comes equipped with a sword! God doesn’t call us to just cower and hide but to fight back with the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God! But if we are not spending time in the Word daily, it’s not going to be effective!

It says that our battle isn’t against flesh and blood but it’s spiritual, so this tells me that bombs and bullets aren’t going to harm this enemy! We need to have a spiritual nuke, which is at our fingertips daily! We just have to pick it up and read it!

And after we read it, let’s pray it back to Him; He loves that!! In verse 18, right after Paul tells us about our armor, he adds the cherry on top , which is to Pray about any and everything, especially each other! We are stronger together in Christ than anything this world or the next can throw at us!!

To me, it’s super clear that if you’re not fighting for Gods kingdom your fighting against it!! So, suit up brothers and sisters, grab your sword, and I will see you in the trenches!!!

God bless you all! I truly love you and so does God!! Glory to God!!!

Ephesians 6:12

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Happy Fourth of July! I want to say thank you to all past, present, and future Americans who have given of themselves for our freedom!! I was thinking about how these patriots protect us from unseen enemies and how our God does the same thing!! There are terrorist threats thwarted everyday both here on earth and in the spiritual world, and I don’t think we give enough credit to either!! So often, God protects me from things that I can’t see, or, even if I could see them, would I believe them??

God doesn’t tell us “no” or “stop” out of malice or to keep us from happiness. Rather, He tells us, “No, because you don’t see the pain that is going to cause you in the future” or, “Stop, because this is going to harden your heart!”

God has protected me numerous times, not only from the evils of this world but also from myself!! Thank You, Lord, for your patience, love, foresight, and compassion. For being a great Father who isn’t afraid to tell me no if it’s for my own good.

So, today, I want to say thank you to the patriots who have secured this country’s freedom and to my ultimate freedom fighter, Jesus Christ, who has secured my eternal freedom in Him!!!!

I love you all, God bless, and glory to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit!!!

Ephesians 6:17-18

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.

Many of us know that prayer is powerful, but do we realize how powerful? Paul includes prayer in the armor of God in Ephesians! Prayer can be both offense and defense, and the enemy knows it. That’s why he fights so hard to keep us from doing it. The busyness of life, the wandering mind, maybe he tells you that it doesn’t work or that God doesn’t care. It doesn’t matter to him what you do or what you believe as long as you’re not believing the Truth!

Prayer involves humility, which is a characteristic of Christ, not the enemy! I don’t go into His throne room throwing my weight around and demanding things but rather come in humbly as a servant, and He exalts me to His son! Prayer also shows who you're putting your trust in. Are you trusting God with your problems or the person down the street? Take yourself, your whole self, and everything that comes with it to the Lord and lay it at His feet!

Is your faith in the Father or in the flesh? Prayer also helps us to get our hearts right before God and in the right position to be filled with His Spirit! When we pray for others (especially for those who hurt us or who we don’t agree with), we are following in Christ’s footsteps, and trust me, that is pleasing to our Father in Heaven! There are so many benefits to prayer and absolutely no drawbacks!

Luke 5:16 - But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

Jesus did it, so why don’t we? If Jesus knew He had to stay prayed up, then who are we to think any different? Jesus is setting the example that the only way to walk the road of the Cross is to stay in direct contact with the Father and allow Him to lead you! Our strength, peace, joy, hope, love, and success are directly related to our relationship with our Heavenly Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit! So, let’s hit our knees and rest in His Presence today!

God bless! I love you all! Glory, Honor, and Praise forever to God Almighty, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit!
