Ezekiel 16:49 Scripture Meditation by Stephen Taylor

Ezekiel 16:49

“Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom; she and her daughters were arrogant, overfed, and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy.”

I want to start this by saying I love America!! As soon as I read this this morning, it brought to mind how our nation is in much the same boat. As a nation, it’s all about me, me, me, and I’m not saying I’m any different! But we have to fight against our selfish desires! We have to concern ourselves with who God is and doing His work!

I can’t just say, “Well, it’s not effecting me, so it’s not my problem!” We are all God’s creation and deserve to be treated as such! We shouldn’t oppress the poor but try to build them up in the Lord! It says all through the Bible about helping the poor and needy, and I believe it’s so important because it teaches us to sacrifice (as Jesus sacrificed for us) and it allows us to show unconditional love (like Jesus’ unconditional love for us!)

Jesus said, “Anything you do for the least of these, you do for Me”!!! Jesus has done a ton for me, so I think it’s time I honor Him by obeying Him!! I love this country, but I do believe we need to make some changes and get back to the basics, Loving God and Loving the People He created!!

I love you all, God bless America, and give God all the glory!!
