Psalm 84:10 Scripture Meditation by Stephen Taylor

Psalm 84:2

My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

This resonates so deeply in me. I have a deep longing for the Lord, a longing so deep that it draws me in and drives me forward. I have a need that can only be met by the One who made me; I desperately need Him more and more each day.

My heart has chased many things in this world, but it never found any rest or fulfillment. My desperately lost and broken heart wandered this wasteland called earth, desiring something more. More than just a moment of relief, more than just fleeting pleasure, more than this world could offer yet not more than He is willing to give! He is my everything. Only in Him do I find what I long for, what I was made for, and what He died to give me. A completeness in Him that is unrivaled by this world.

Today, I am grateful and thankful as my heart cried out for the Living God, the God who broke the grave and redeemed my broken heart! He is my God, and I love and long for Him, but what happens when that longing leads me to the cross? Will I continue to follow the God who set me free, or will I turn away, deeming it too hard or too much? When it is time for me to crucify my flesh each day, will I pick up the nails and do what needs to be done, or will I turn back and, in doing that, turn my back on Him?

Each one of us is called to die to self in order to live fully in Christ. Are we willing to do that today? By the grace of God and the Holy Spirit, I am! My heart and soul thirst for Him so much that if the path to His Presence leads up Calvary's hill, then up the hill I will go, carrying my cross and praising Him all the way! Will you join me?

Luke 9:23-25- Then He said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?”

James 1:2-4 - Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

God bless! I love you all, but His love is everything! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!

Psalm 84:10

Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a door keeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

Sometimes, I forget how blessed I am to know the Lord and how true this psalm is. To me, what this psalmist is saying is that he would rather be a servant, a janitor, if you will, for the Lord than to live comfortably without God! Amen! How true that is and how easily I lose sight of that!

My prayer today is that we can have a heart like this and the humility to want this as well!!!! I wasn’t really good at math, but 1000 vs 1 is a big difference, and the writer says, “No question; give me the one day with my God than any amount without Him!!!! Because of God’s love and Jesus’ sacrifice, that desire is now a reality for all of us who accept Jesus Christ as our Savior!!!!!

Thank You, God!!!! Thank You, Jesus!!!!! Thank You, Holy Spirit!!!!! Glory to God!!!!!! I love you all! God bless!!
