Song of Songs 2:15 Scripture Meditation by Stephen Taylor

Song of Songs 2:15

“Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom.”

This verse hits right home with me! I have to guard against those “little foxes” that may not seem like a big deal, but once they get in, they can ruin everything. Think about it; most vineyards are big places, yet it’s saying that little foxes can ruin the whole thing!! See, we’re like the blooming vineyard, except instead of grapes, we produce fruit of the Spirit, but if we let things like greed, lust, anger, selfishness, or any other sin in, it will start to destroy that fruit!! We have to guard against those little thoughts and actions that seem like nothing but really mean everything!!

I fail daily – trust me on that – but what I do have now is the Holy Spirit to show me where and how I went wrong and how to improve on it the next time!! There is a saying that “little compromises lead to big disasters.” I love that because it’s so true!!!! Solomon says it here in this verse, and Jesus talks about a little yeast leavening the whole batch!!!

So, let us be vigilant and constantly be searching our hearts for little foxes that don’t belong!!!

I love you all, God bless, and more than anything, give God all the glory!!!!!
