Colossians 4:5 Devotion by Stephen Taylor

Colossians 4:5

Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.

Brothers and sisters, now more than ever, I feel like we need to live this verse out. The world is limping out of 2020 and into 2021, but the Church needs to be running into it. We need to be picking up speed and sharing the Gospel more lovingly, boldly, accurately, openly, and passionately. We know Peace, we know Truth, we know Salvation, and His name is Jesus!! We have a unique opportunity to share the Light of the World in one of the darkest times ever! The world is desperate for Hope, and we know right where to find Him!

I don’t think that 2020 was a year of punishment but rather a year of positioning. God was positioning Himself and His people for revival, renewal, and reawakening! 2020 wasn’t a good year by our standards, but maybe we should judge not by our standards but the Lords. Let’s stop asking, “Why us Lord?” and start asking, “Where do you want us, Lord? How can we serve, Lord? Who do you want us to reach, Lord? How can I die to self today and let Christ be glorified in that dying to self?”

Today, not tomorrow or the next day, but today is the day the Lord has made, and He has made it to bring Himself glory, honor, and praise and to bring His lost sheep home! I feel like the Lord is calling for revival, not just survival! This verse says to make the most of every opportunity. We must do this because we might only get one shot at it! Tomorrow’s not promised, so make today count!

Make every effort, make it count, and more importantly, make it all about Jesus and Who He is and what He accomplished on the Cross!

I love you all! God bless you and your families. Glory to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit!!!!
