Isaiah 43 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Isaiah 43:20,21

“The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.”

You are not a mistake, you were not an afterthought or a surprise to God, but you were formed for Him and His glory! Our God is both intimate and intentional! This world and the people of it may have said that you have no place, you don’t belong, no one wants you or needs you, but these are lies straight from the pit of Hell, tearing away at the truth.

The truth is God made you for Himself; He created you with a plan and a purpose. He called you to be His own and to live a life of worship before others that they may see and follow suit. It’s an amazing thought, isn’t it? That the God who can have anything He ever wanted wants you and me! That He went to great lengths to create us, provide for us, and even pay for us before we even knew His name.

Think about it like this: when God created you, He thought, “I have created (your name here) to be Mine and to declare My praise and bring Me glory!” It’s amazing to me that God would want someone like me, yet that’s exactly what the Bible and the cross teach us. That there is something inside each one of us that God wants so fiercely, He was willing to die for it. You, me, we have been created to be His, not the world’s, not the enemy’s, not what your parents or your teachers said you were but what God has called you to be: His own special possession set apart for His glory. Will you walk in this truth today?

Deuteronomy 7:6-8- For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be His people, His treasured possession. The LORD did not set His affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath He swore to your ancestors that He brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

The above verse is physical proof of a spiritual truth. As God physically delivered them from Egypt’s bondage to be His own, so He has delivered us from sin’s bondage to be His own! You are valuable to Him! Thank You, Lord! Praise Your Holy name!

God bless! I love you all, but His love is purer and more valuable than the air we breathe! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!

Isaiah 43:25

“I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

Last night, I had a dream, and in this dream, I went back to my old ways of using drugs and alcohol. Normally when one of these dreams occurs, it can be disheartening and maybe even disturbing, but not last night. At first, I thought it was an attack, but after praying into it this morning, I realized the Lord wanted me to share it and the point He made to me in it. I will save you the details, but basically, what happened is I went out partying for a little while but felt convicted and turned back to the Lord.

Here is where it gets interesting. In my dream, I’m talking to my mom, and I said something to the effect of, “I don’t really feel like that happened. I feel like the Lord is still with me and that He has wiped that away and forgiven me. That it was so far gone that it felt like it never happened!” Thank You, Lord! As I’m praying and meditating on it this morning, the Lord said something like this about my dream: “People often don’t turn back to Me because they are afraid of the consequences, so they continue to run from Me. They think they are running from judgment toward healing and safety when they are really running from healing and safety toward judgment!”

It blows my mind how gracious and merciful our Heavenly Father is! How after everything we have done or will do, He still has a heart willing to forgive us and cleanse us, not only in His sight but in our minds as well! So, I have to ask, what are you running from? Are you running from the Lord? If so, then stop, turn around, and embrace your Creator, His Precious Son, and the Spirit of Truth!

Hebrews 8:12 – “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."

God bless! I love you all! Glory, Honor, and Praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
