Judges 21:25 Devotion by Stephen Taylor

Judges 21:25

In those days, Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit.

This phrase appears several times in Judges, and it kept catching my eye. It blows my mind because the Israelites had something better than a human king. They had God Almighty leading them, but yet they still chose to ignore Him.

How often I want something in the physical realm, when in all honesty, the answer is in the spiritual realm and is way more fulfilling and life-giving than what a human being could ever do. How quickly I judge the Israelites for missing the Lord right in front of them and then turn around and do the same exact thing! They were relying on another human to save, protect, and lead them, when all along, the Lord was standing right there waiting and wanting to fill those roles!

This is happening today just like it did so many years ago. We are crying out for a new president to save us or a reform in the government, and all the while, God is saying, “Hey, I’m right here, remember Me? The One who spoke everything into existence and then sent My Son to pay for you all with His sacrifice?” He is still God, He is still here, and He is still waiting on us to acknowledge and turn back to Him!

It’s really easy to do good or behave when people are watching over you or you are afraid to get into trouble, but how do you act, and what do you say and believe when no one is around? Don’t let your salvation or relationship with the Lord rest in someone else’s hands. Grab your Cross and the hand of Jesus today and let Him show you the path, the only path, to Eternal Life, and guess what? You don’t have to wait till the end to start that Life!

We have a King, He is Jesus, and I promise you He won’t be denied!!! He loves us, He proved it, and one day, we’re going Home because of Him!!!!

I love you all, God bless, and Glory to God Almighty, King Jesus, and The Holy Spirit who leads us into all Truth!
