Ezekiel 7:19 Devotion by Stephen Taylor

Ezekiel 7:19

“They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be treated as a thing unclean. Their silver and gold will not be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath. It will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs, for it has caused them to stumble into sin.”

The Holy Spirit led me to do this, so I’m challenging you to do the same! After you read this verse, go back and reread it but take out the words “silver and gold” and replace them with “bank accounts, stature, influence, occupation, ungodly relationships, clout” basically, anything that isn’t Jesus Christ! Because in the day of the LORD’s wrath, only one thing can save you, and it’s a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the Risen Lamb of God!

It’s so easy for us to think of idolatry as old wooden poles and statues made out of gold from thousands of years ago, but the truth is that we all have idols in our lives right now, whether we realize it or not. The enemy isn’t stupid. He knows that if there were images made out of gold and people bowing down to them, our alarms would go off. But here’s a question: on any given day, do you pay more attention to your phone or the Lord? Your job or the family the Lord has given you to care and provide for, and not just financially?

When the Israelites left Egypt, the Lord told Moses to have them ask the Egyptians for gold and silver. These were gifts from God, and the people turned around and made those gifts gods. So today, let’s worship the One who gave us our gifts, not the gifts themselves!!!!

James 1:17 - Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

God bless! I love you all! Glory, Honor, and Praise forever to Creator God, the Word Jesus Christ, and the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation the Holy Spirit!
