Isaiah 51:14 Devotion by Stephen Taylor

Isaiah 51:14

The cowering prisoners will soon be set free; they will not die in their dungeon, nor will they lack bread.

The Holy Spirit revealed this verse to me this morning, and I’m going to try to relay the message!

Cower = to crouch down in fear, to get low, go down, humble oneself.

Dungeon = sin

Bread = Jesus!

So, the person who humbles himself out of reverent fear of the Lord will not die in their sin but will be set free by faith in Jesus Christ!!!! Thank You, King Jesus!!!!! It’s another picture of our salvation through Jesus Christ! God continues to point this out to me, and it’s such a beautiful reminder that He always had a plan for us! He never intended for us to die in our sin and be separated from Him forever but was biding His time until He could send His Son!

God wants us to know we weren’t a problem He had to fix but lost children He wanted to redeem! We weren’t an afterthought or something He didn’t plan on but rather the exact opposite. He knew we were lost without His divine intervention, and He sent us the greatest gift ever, Jesus Christ! There isn’t enough good you could do in 10000000 lifetimes to pay for even one of your sins! But that’s the beauty of it –  our debt has been paid, and our lives are now hidden with Christ in God if we repent, surrender, and confess that Jesus is Lord!

Isaiah 52:3 - For this is what the LORD says: "You were sold for nothing, and without money, you will be redeemed."

God bless! I love you all. Glory, Honor, and Praise forever to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit!
