1 Corinthians 12 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

1 Corinthians 12:18-20

But in fact, God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

We are called to be a diverse Body, not a divided one. To me, division in the Body of Christ is one of the saddest things in the Church today. The Body He bled and died for divided over doctrines, feelings, or misunderstandings. The Bride He purchased refusing to function together because we can't get along. We are only harming and crippling ourselves!

Make no mistake, we aren't weakening Christ in this, but we are weakening ourselves. For Christ remains strong, powerful, and eternal regardless of us. Think about how effective a Body united in truth would be? Imagine the things that could change and the souls that could be won. Imagine if we all came together and just believed the Word of God and loved it and lived it in Him. If we could say, “I don't agree with all your doctrine, but we both serve Christ so let's do it together!”

The "hands" need the "feet" to get where they are going, and the "feet" need the "hands" to reach out and touch someone! We all need Christ and each other! What would happen if the church with all the financial resources partnered with the church with all the people, and they together went to the areas with all the problems? Things would change, God would be pleased, and His Name would be praised!

1 Corinthians 12:4-6- There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone, it is the same God at work.

Different yet the same in Him!

God bless! I love you all, but my love is flawed while His love is perfect! Praise, glory, and honor now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
