Hebrews 7 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Hebrews 7:23-26

Now there have been many of those priests since death prevented them from continuing in office, but because Jesus lives forever, He has a permanent priesthood. Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him because He always lives to intercede for them. Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.

Thank You, Jesus, for being more than enough! Not just a high priest but The High Priest! It's such a beautiful picture here of Jesus, who is always at the ready, waiting to intercede for us the minute we come to God through Him. It doesn't take a bunch of works, nor the blood of bulls or rams. But simply a confession of faith and acceptance of Him as your Lord. Turning from your sins and towards the Savior.

The verse above says, "set apart from sinners," yet He came in the likeness of sinful flesh and was marked and died with them and for them and us! It says "exalted above the heavens," yet He came to the earth He created and was crucified on it. This Jesus is so far beyond our comprehension and above all our expectations.

He came meekly in a manger to bring salvation to a world that didn't accept Him nor acknowledge Him as God. He wanted no riches nor kingdom in this world but only lowly sinners like you and me. His love unquenchable, His mercy unbreakable, His power unmatchable, His mind unsearchable, and His Kingdom unstoppable. This Jesus paid it all with His perfect, precious blood and welcomes all who come to Him with open arms. Will you come into His loving embrace today?

Hebrews 7:27,28-Unlike the other high priests, He does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when He offered Himself. For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.

God bless! I love you all, but He is love! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
