Titus 3 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Titus 3:4-7

But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Let everything that has breath praise and thank the Lord! We are familiar with the gift of salvation that Jesus bought and brought us through His victory over death on the cross. But do we realize and appreciate that He also brought us the Holy Spirit through that same act? That now we have both a future hope of living in God's Presence and a daily walking with His Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is our Teacher, our Comforter, our Companion, our Helper. He intercedes for us and reveals the will of God for us and the mysteries of God's Word to us. Jesus not only opened the only way home but also opened the way for the Spirit to come live in us! What a beautiful blessing He is! The Holy Spirit is alive, He is active, and you can speak to Him as you do a friend. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Ignoring, denying, or discrediting the Holy Spirit in the Christian walk is like tying both your arms behind your back and jumping in a pool. You might be able to thrash about or even float for a moment, but in the end, you will sink to the bottom. Let's ask Him to reveal Himself to us more this day!

Jesus Himself said:

John 16:7- "But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

Luke 24:49- "I am going to send you what my Father has promised, but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."

God bless! I love you all, but His love moves mountains! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Advocate the Holy Spirit!
