Exodus 24 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Exodus 24:9-11

Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up and saw the God of Israel. Under His feet was something like a pavement made of lapis lazuli, as bright blue as the sky. But God did not raise His hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank.

I love how they saw God, and if that wasn’t enough, He has a meal with them as well. What an amazing day that would have been! Those of us who belong to Christ will get to enjoy something similar but so much more one day!

But today, I want to talk about the tables we will gather around today and the people at those tables. You and I might be the only disciples of Christ at the tables we are at today, so it’s our job to make sure we invite Him in and share Him there. Pray for patience, pray for peace, pray for an opening, and pray and ask Him to come to eat at your table with you and whoever else is there with you. That hearts may be made ready and responsive to His call.

God desires intimacy with us; we see this all throughout the Bible. Think about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; what did He do on earth? He taught, He preached, He worshipped and obeyed His Father, but He also did life with people. He ate with them, He cried with them, He lived with them, He suffered with them, He shared His heart with them, and I’m sure He laughed, joked, and cut up with them.

Moses and those with him were blessed enough to see the Lord with their physical eyes, but that isn’t always the case. Sometimes people don’t get to see Him physically, but they do get to see and experience Him through you and me. Will we take Him to our table today?

Ephesians 5:1,2- Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do because you are his dear children. Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered Himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

God bless! I love you all, but His love changed everything! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
