Genesis 25 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Genesis 25:23

The LORD said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.”

What a powerful and beautiful promise the LORD gave Rebekah concerning Esau and Jacob. Before they were born, the LORD had told Rebekah that Esau would serve Jacob. Yet we see in Genesis 27 that Rebekah turns to trickery to try to make this a reality. She believed God, but she also believed that she should help Him with His divine plan. Do we ever do that? God gives us a word or puts a desire in our heart, and we get impatient in the waiting?

God calls us to be diligent and good stewards of our time, talents, and giftings, but He never calls us to do things for Him or in our own timing. Right now, I’m in a waiting period, and it can be tough at times; the enemy would like me to believe I’m not measuring up, or there is something wrong with me or that I need to do it for God, but my friends, those are all lies to get me to move before God says so. I have to trust that the One who created me, called me out of darkness, and put these desires in my heart has a plan and a purpose, and when the timing is right, He will let me know!

No one wants us to walk in God’s will more than He does, so let’s rest in Him and wait eagerly for the fulfillment of the promises He makes to His children! Our God is faithful, and He will deliver on every promise He has made! The world can’t give us what God has promised us, so don’t let the world trick you into a counterfeit when God is the Author of authenticity!

Luke 1:37- “For no word from God will ever fail.”

Zechariah 4:6- So, He said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.”

God bless! I love you all, but His love holds promises! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
