Judges 1 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Judges 1:34

The Amorites confined the Danites to the hill country, not allowing them to come down into the plain.

How often do we let our enemy define us and tell us where we will live? The Lord had given this territory to the Israelites as part of their inheritance, but instead of walking in faith into that promise, they allowed their enemy to tell them where they were gonna live. Do we do this today?

Our God promises us peace, but we let the enemy confine us in chaos. Our God promises us freedom from fear, but we let the enemy trap us in a prison of fear. Our God promises to give us hope, but we surrender to the enemy's despair. Our God says His Son's blood was more than enough to cover all the sins of our past, yet we allow the enemy to define us by our past.

We're all guilty of this in one sense or another, but we don't have to stay there. We don't have to live in the land that our enemy says we have to but rather can live in the land the Lord has given us! He paid a high price for you and me, not so we can live in shame and guilt but so we can walk hand in hand in a powerful and loving freedom found only in Christ! So today, let's let our worth and our lives be defined by the One who paid the full price for them! Rest in His promises because our God is faithful! Thank You, Jesus!

John 19:30- When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

He gave up His spirit, but He never gave up on you and me! Praise Him today! God bless! I love you all, but His love paid it all! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
