Numbers 20 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Numbers 20:2

Now, there was no water for the community, and the people gathered in opposition to Moses and Aaron.

This isn’t just a want but a need, a very real and important need in their lives. But instead of focusing on their provider, they focus on the problem, and by doing that, they turn to fear instead of faith. God had yet to fail them in spite of their constant failings before Him. Yet they still turned away from Him and turned on His servants when faced with adversity. Do we ever do this? Do we forget all of God’s provision in times of testing, trial, or temptation? Do we turn on those He has given us?

Imagine if they would have gathered in prayer and worship instead of rebellion and opposition! This isn’t easy, nor will we be perfect at it, but we have to try. We can’t just throw our hands up when God is calling us to lay our lives down before Him. We are His, bought at a very high price, and we need to act like it. We’re not perfect. We’re not sinless, but we are redeemed children of God, and He always provides for His own!

1 Corinthians 6:19,20- Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

Matthew 7:11- “So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask Him.”

God bless! I love you all, but His love breaks every chain! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
