Numbers 33 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Numbers 33:3,4

The Israelites set out from Rameses on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the Passover. They marched out defiantly in full view of all the Egyptians, who were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had struck down among them, for the LORD had brought judgment on their gods.

They didn’t sneak out of Egypt but marched out boldly in full view of those who had formerly oppressed and enslaved them. Can we say the same about our spiritual lives? Think of a time the Lord freed you from something, the boldness you had as you walked out of it and into freedom in Him. Do you still have that same boldness and confidence in the Lord over that area of your life? Or maybe think of when you first came to Christ, that boldness it took to walk up front to the alter, or raise your hand and pray that prayer. Do you still have that same boldness for the Lord?

The Israelites started out bold and strong, but little by little, they waned and wandered as they walked about the wilderness. They got further away from following their God and started following their flesh. We can be in danger of falling into the same trap. God hadn’t changed or abandoned them, but at times, they had left Him. They got away from total dependence on God and turned to depending on man and the things of this world.

So, today, let’s remember a time of deliverance and boldness before the Lord and walk in that same spirit today. Ask the Lord to remind you of it and replenish your strength and resolve in Him! Because Jesus walked humbly and boldly towards the cross, we too can walk and serve humbly and boldly in Him today! Thank You, Jesus!

Luke 9:51- As the time drew near for Him to ascend to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.

God bless! I love you all, but His love bore the weight of our sins and shame! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
