Numbers 35 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Numbers 35:34

“Do not defile the land where you live and where I dwell, for I, the LORD, dwell among the Israelites.”

Isaiah 7:14- All right then, the Lord Himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call Him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’).

God is not far off or standing aloof somewhere but has been and will be living with His people! Thank You, Lord! Who are we that the Creator of all the universe would want to live with us? We can’t even stand to live with each other some of the time, yet the Holy and Righteous One desires to live with us! Time and time again, He reaffirms this desire and promise.

One of the beautiful things about God living with us is that He is never far from us. In our good times and in our bad, we have a God who is near and available. We have backstage passes for the ultimate show. He knew how much we needed Him to be near, and He made the way! Thank You, Jesus, that we can now approach the throne of Grace with humility and confidence.

God has not only been near to His people since creation, but now because of Christ, at the end of our lives, we can go to Him! Closeness with God isn’t reserved for Heaven. You can live a life filled with His Presence and peace today! We may not always feel Him near, but His Word tells us He is! In the darkest of times, we can rest in the promises found in His Word and watch Him illuminate the world around us with His Presence!

Psalm 34:18-The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 145:18- The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on him in truth.

Deuteronomy 4:7- What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to Him?

God bless! I love you all, but His love is always near! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
