Proverbs 3 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Proverbs 3:1-4

My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity.
Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.

What mighty promises are found in these verses! Promises for life, peace, prosperity, and favor with both God and man! These promises are eternal and don't stop at the end of these earthly lives but find their greatest and ultimate fulfillment in the next one.

Think about it like this: what is longer than eternity? Nothing! And because of Christ, we can live it with Him! What greater peace is there than peace with God? Nothing! And because of Christ, we can now have peace with God! What's of greater worth to us than our souls? Nothing, and because of Christ, our souls can rest in Him! And the favor that God gives us doesn't die when we die, for if we have lived a life surrendered to Him, that legacy, favor, and faith can be passed on for generations to come!

We can claim these promises both in this life and the next! But it all starts with keeping His teaching and His commands in our hearts and living them out in our lives. If our hearts remain faithful to Him and filled with love, then we too can walk in the confidence these verses provide. But if we choose to walk away from Him, then we not only walk away from our God but everything that He is and promises us! Let us remain in Him, and if we have wandered, let us return to Him for He is merciful, patient, loving, kind, and generous to those who don't deserve it! Thank You, Lord!

Philippians 4:19- And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Matthew 5:45- "In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For He gives His sunlight to both the evil and the good, and He sends rain on the just and the unjust alike."

God bless! I love you all, but His love has an eternal inheritance for you and I! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
