Revelation 12 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Revelation 12:10

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.”

Romans 8:34- Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.

We have an accuser, and we have a Defender! What a beautiful contrast between the two. As our enemy tries to tear us down in the Presence of our God, His Son is at His right hand, interceding on our behalf! Jesus Christ is the only defense that can stand against the accusations from the enemy. Imagine Satan bringing up all the evils and sins we have committed, and Christ saying, “That is true, but I paid for it! I paid for them with My blood, and they are Mine, Papa. They are redeemed and reconciled children of the Living God. No longer bound by the sin that enslaved them but now set free in Me!”

See, Christ doesn’t make excuses for our sins but rather gives the only answer necessary: “They are Mine! Thank You, Jesus!

We can see how the two differ in their approach, and we can learn something about this to help us now. The voice of the Lord will gently draw you out of your sins and back to Him. His conviction is a catalyst for repentance, not damnation. Our enemy's voice is the one that is accusatory and tells us to run from God because He is going to punish us or disown us. So, what voice are you listening to today? Is it driving you towards the cross or away from it? God doesn’t desire to drive you away from Him but to draw you into Himself, and that was proved the day Jesus paid it all!

Hebrews 2:9-11- But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what He suffered. Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So, Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.

God bless! I love you all, but His love brings us into His Father’s glory! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our Guardian Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit!
