Psalm 10 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Psalm 10:17,18

You, LORD, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.

How thankful I am that our God is still doing this today! If God is for us, then who can really stand against us? Some may try to oppose us and tear us down, but in the end, if we belong to Christ, we will reign for eternity with Him! Our God protects us in the physical, but what is really encouraging to me this morning is that He does this in the spiritual realm even more. For all of us, we were Fatherless before Christ brought us into the family. And there wasn't one of us who wasn't oppressed by the evil one and our sins before Christ said, “No more, this one is Mine!”

Our God cares about us on many different levels, and that should comfort us because He is the One who created us and knows us better than we know ourselves. He knows what we truly need before we ever speak a word. He knew that without Him, we would toil in oppression and die in our sin. So, He came boldly yet humbly to the manger and walked a path to the cross for you and me.

Thank You, Jesus, for all that You are and all that You give to me! We have not been called to live in fear but to walk in victory in Him. He is our victory; do you know the King of Glory? He knows you and wants to be your Defender both in this life and the next! Praise His Holy Name!

Romans 8:31- What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Psalm 118:6- The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?

Psalm 12:7,8- You, LORD, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked, who freely strut about when what is vile is honored by the human race.

God bless! I love you, but His love far outweighs the sins of our past or the fear of the future! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
