Isaiah 45 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Isaiah 45:19

“I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner. I would not have told the people of Israel to seek me if I could not be found. I, the LORD, speak only what is true and declare only what is right.”

Do we trust the LORD and take Him at His word? God’s people respond with a resounding yes, but does our life reflect our faith? God is not a man that He should lie or change His mind; what He declared to be righteous yesterday will be righteous today. Likewise, what He deems sin to be is not up for debate; if He has declared that it is sin, it’s not up to us to argue or declare it okay.

It can be easy for us to trust God to save our souls but not to direct the life He has given us. We say amen on Sunday but then are right back in the devil's house on Monday. My friends, this just can’t be; we are called to live a life apart from the things of this world, not in the middle of them. We are called to reject evil, not indulge in it. If we trust God’s truth about Christ and how He can save us, then why do we deny the truth about how to live in Him each day? We must trust our God in all areas of our lives and live a life of freedom through the Spirit.

I love how this verse says that our God publicly proclaims bold promises; these promises can be both blessings and curses. They can be a blessing to those who are walking humbly and reverently with Christ, but they are promises of disaster for those who abandon and deny Him. Both are promised, and both will come to pass, but which one we will be found in is up to us. He says that He will be found when we seek Him with all of our hearts. Are you willing to do that today?

Jeremiah 29:13,14- You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

God bless! I love you all, but His love is faithful and true above all else! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
