Ezekiel 37 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Ezekiel 37:3-5

He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign LORD, you alone know.” Then He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.”

How about a shot of hope for us!. Hope not only for us but for those around us. These bones, these dead and dried-out bones, represent the exiled children of Israel; they had been sent into exile for their sin and rebellion against God. The way the Bible describes these bones shows us they were beyond human help or even human hope, but they were never outside of the grasp of God. Though the situation looked bleak and lifeless, they were not beyond saving! This is still a truth you and I need to hold fast to today.

Each one of us knows someone that the world says is too far gone. I was that person until Christ set me free! I was the one who never could or would change. I was the one who would forever be “that person”. I was the dead bones in the valley until my God spoke life into me. Keep praying for that person who looks like dry bones, for you never know when God will move and when they will surrender.

Our God brings dead things to life, He brings the lost to be found and the empty made full. He is amazing and worthy of all praise. Today, hold onto your hope, for the hope we have is not founded in the flesh but the Spirit. The hope that we have is not fleeting, not trivial, but the hope we have is in Him! Hope has a name, and it is Jesus!

1 Peter 1:3-5- Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

God bless! I love you all, but His love is our hope, joy, peace, and security! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
