Proverbs 13 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Proverbs 13:7

One person pretends to be rich, yet has nothing; another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.

Are we comfortable in who God created and called us to be? Let’s even take it a step further: are we confident in who God called and created us to be? If I’m honest, the answer is no, I need to grow in this area. He has placed inside each one of us gifts, talents, and abilities that must be embraced and nurtured in order to grow for His glory.

Too often in my life, I have fallen into the trap of trying to be who I think I’m supposed to be instead of being who God created me to be. That, my friends, is a fruitless and futile way to live. But when I stop pretending and get real with the Lord and myself, things happen. Chains start to break, people around me get encouraged, and above all of that, God gets the glory and praise.

You have something inside of you that someone greater than you placed there for a Divine purpose. A purpose far deeper than we can see on the surface; for God put it there when He created you. He did not forget to equip you, nor did He run out of gifts, but He is the Key to unlocking and walking in these things. They are from Him, for Him, and must be unlocked by Him for His glory!

So, we have a choice: will we embrace all the perceived quirks and flaws we have, or fight against those differences He has placed inside us for a purpose? Who knows but that maybe the thing that you can’t stand is exactly what He will use to show Christ to someone around you! Forgive us, Lord, and help us to walk in You today!

Jeremiah 1:5- “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

God bless! I love you all, but His love leads us in our weaknesses for His glorious purposes! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
