Hosea 1 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Hosea 1:7

“Yet I will show love to Judah; and I will save them—not by bow, sword or battle, or by horses and horsemen, but I, the LORD their God, will save them.”

This verse finds its initial fulfillment when the LORD rescues Judah from Assyria, but it finds its ultimate fulfillment in Jesus Christ! Praise the Lord! He says He will do it, and if He said it, we can count it as already done! Christ came and did what no ordinary man could do; He satisfied the righteous requirement through His sacrifice and saved the sinner. What an awesome God we serve!

We have to remember that our God does not need the weapons of this world to wage war and be victorious. He doesn’t rely on the power of the world but rather is Himself the true source of pure and perfect power. Let this be an encouragement to us as we face different trials, hardships, and attacks, knowing that they will come but that our God has overcome them already! We have not been deserted, nor are we left wounded and dying on a battlefield. Instead, we are walking right through it because of Christ who lives in us! He is the victory, and He is worthy of all praise!

Yes, attacks come and battles rage, but our God will not be denied nor over come by evil. So today, whatever we are facing or missing, let us remember that our God waged war with Heavenly weapons that have divine power to demolish strongholds of the enemy and set the captive free!

2 Corinthians 10:3,4- For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

God bless! I love you all, but His love is greater than any weapon of this world! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
