Isaiah 24 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Isaiah 24:1-3

See, the Lord is going to lay waste the earth and devastate it; he will ruin its face and scatter its inhabitants—it will be the same for priest as for people, for the master as for his servant, for the mistress as for her servant, for seller as for buyer, for borrower as for lender, for debtor as for creditor. The earth will be completely laid waste and totally plundered. The Lord has spoken this word.

This chapter talks about the destruction of the earth and end times. Later, it introduces two sets of people, one of which can be best described as filled with terror and the other filled with joy! I’m not a brilliant man, but I know that joy is far more desirable than terror and that at some point in our lives, we have to decide which side we’re going to be on!

Whether we like it or not, this world is going to end, and there will be a winning side and a losing side! It just struck me this morning as I was reading because right in the middle of all this destruction and chaos, it says they will raise their voices and shout for joy! This will be the worst time known to man, but for those of us who know Jesus, it will be a time of praise and worship!! It will be the ultimate “ praise Him in the storm” moment!!

I’m not a fan of being filled with terror or losing, so I chose Jesus and the winning side, and I hope you do too!! Which side are you on??

I love you ALL, God bless you, and Give our God all the glory!!!!

Isaiah 24:1-3

See, the LORD is going to lay waste the earth and devastate it; He will ruin its face and scatter its inhabitants— it will be the same for priest as for people, for the master as for his servant, for the mistress as for her servant, for seller as for buyer, for borrower as for lender, for debtor as for creditor. The earth will be completely laid waste and totally plundered. The LORD has spoken this word.

In the end, it won’t matter if we are Jew or Gentile, free or slave. It won’t matter if we are Republican or Democrat. It won’t matter if we attended a Methodist or a Baptist church. It will not matter what we were, but only Who’s we are! For the world we see today will one day be no more, but the One who created it will live forever!

Too often, we get caught up in these different sections or divisions. We think our way is best, our way is right, that our way is the only way, but in all reality, the only way is Christ. What that looks like may be up for interpretation, but when the world ends, and the books are opened, there will be but one defense on that day, Jesus Christ!

Let us not deceive ourselves and so be lost like the unbelieving world around us, claiming Christ is good and proper, but that does not save us. The Bible teaches us that He must claim us in order for us to be saved. We must be known by Him and as His own sheep.

You may wonder, “How do I know if I’m His?” Great thought. We must use the Scriptures as our guide for everything of God! The Scriptures teach us that those who come to Christ, repent (turn from your sin to God), and follow Him daily will be saved. So in a way, we can gauge our salvation by the standard of our lives. Do our lives look more and more like Christ the longer we walk with Him, or do they look more and more like the world and the sins He came to save us from? We all sin, but do we live in open rebellion to God while claiming that we are His?

Christ is super specific and straightforward in His warnings to those who claim they are His but are not. This is not a post to tear down but rather to help us wake up, turn back to God, and rejoice in all eternity in His Presence!

Matthew 7:21-23- “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in Heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

God bless! I love you all, but His love is so much more! Praise, glory, and honor both now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
