2 Corinthians 10:3-4 Devotion by Stephen Taylor

2 Corinthians 10:3-4

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

Do we believe these verses? These verses talk about the war that is raging and the weapons that will prevail. The question isn’t if we will fight but what side we will fight for, and what kind of weapon we use will determine our success! We can’t fight a spiritual battle with physical weapons. They have no power in that realm.

The Lord gives us an arsenal of weapons at our disposal, but do we take the time to learn how to use them? Do we spend time daily in prayer and His Word? When’s the last time you fasted? It’s been a while for me too! Do we sing worship songs because they are catchy or because they are exalting the Name of the Lord and filling His throne room with our praise? When’s the last time you poured into somebody out of the overflow the Lord has given you? Does your obedience come with conditions? Partial surrender is no surrender at all, but full surrender to Christ is a weapon that can’t be stopped!

God gave us these weapons for a reason, but He doesn’t make us pick them up and use them! We have the ability, through the Holy Spirit, to not only use these weapons but to be pretty deadly with them. Training today can mean victory tomorrow! Surrender today can mean success tomorrow. Don’t wait to get into the battle and then try to train. It won’t work. Prepare today or pay for it tomorrow!

I love how Paul uses the word demolish. It’s not a passive word but a word that carries its weight and shows just how powerful these weapons are! If you have been fighting a battle for a long time, I would ask you to check and make sure you are fighting with the right weapons! Our God loves to equip His people with His weapons and give them victory over every stronghold through Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior!

Romans 10:12-13 - For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on Him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

God bless! I love you all! Glory, Honor, and Praise forever to God Almighty, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit!
