Children's Sermon on Luke 12:1 - Working Together
Needed: Nothing
Scripture: Luke 12:1
Children's Sermon: Read Luke 12:1a
Have students fan out in front of you, with a volunteer standing a distance behind you. Say, I want you to pretend that person standing behind me is Jesus. What would happen if I told you all to run toward Jesus right now?
You would run there, but you also might run into each other as you're trying to get to Jesus. You might bump into each other and hurt each other because you're all running for yourselves toward the same goal.
So let's make sure we all get to Jesus, but no one gets hurt along the way. Everyone, link arms and we'll take one step at a time together. Ready? Take one step forward. Ready? Take another step forward...
We made it to Jesus! But some people are further away from Jesus than others! So now, the people on the end, circle around Jesus and link arms with the person on the other side. Now we're all here, close to Jesus, and no one got hurt or trampled on the way because we were all working together!
