Humble Servants - Sunday School Lesson on Humility - Luke 17:7-10

Use this Sunday School lesson on humility to teach kids about the importance of humility toward Christ.

Needed: A picture of a butler or servant (included below)

Hold up the picture and ask students, How many of you have ever had a butler or a servant to work for you? How many of you would like a butler or a servant?

Let's imagine the person in this picture is your butler. What are some things that you would want him to do?

The Bible tells us that just like some people are butlers and servants to other people, we are all servants to Jesus. We all work for and serve Jesus. We're His servants. What do you think are some things Jesus wants us to do as His servants?

He wants us to do good things and help other people and keep learning more about Him. And He doesn't want us to be proud or act like we're really good servants either. He just wants us to serve Him nice and quietly and do it because we love Him, not because we're trying to get a big reward or anything.

(Read Luke 17:7-10.)

So, let's remember to be good servants to Jesus and to serve Him because we love Him.

Let's pray about that.

Sample prayer: Jesus, please help us to be Your servants every day and to know how to serve you better and better. We love You, Jesus. Amen.
