2 Timothy 2:2
And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.
I love this because it’s a template for how we should operate as a body of believers. All of us have people we should sit under and people we should sow into. I believe that Timothy operated in the spiritual gift of teaching, but he still had to be a student at one point. Then, once wisdom and revelation were given to him by the Holy Spirit, he was told to share it with his trusted disciples or reliable people.
I have people I pour into and people that pour into me, and let me tell you, both are extremely important. Often times, I learn as much listening as I do from teaching! We aren’t to just store up knowledge and keep it all for ourselves but to share it with those around us! Even Jesus operated like this with His disciples. The Bible tells us that to the crowds He spoke in parables, but in private to His disciples, He spoke plainly (Mark 4:34). Jesus imparted His wisdom to those closest to Him and then sent them out to do the same!
I encourage you to look around your life and find the people God has placed into your life to sow into and which ones He wants you to sit under! Paul, in the first chapter of Romans, talks about wanting to impart a spiritual gift to make them strong. So, I would assume that these are newer believers and they aren’t as strong in the faith. But he goes on to say that they both can be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith! So, the faith of the student can encourage the teacher! This tells me that no matter how long you have been walking with Christ, your faith can encourage any and every one you share it with!!!
Be sharing, Be bold, Be honest, and Be willing to share the love of Christ and your faith with whoever God puts in your path!!!
I love you all, God bless, Glory to God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit!!!!
