Children’s Sermon on John 2:1-12 – Jesus Turns Water into Wine
Use this children’s sermon on Jesus changing water to wine to show students that when we pray to Jesus, He can change our situations.
Scripture: John 2:1-12
Needed: Water, wine or grape juice
Children’s Sermon: Ask, Why do we pray?
We pray for a few different reasons. Sometimes, we want to thank God for something or worship Him. Sometimes, we need to tell Him something we did wrong and ask for forgiveness. Sometimes, we pray and ask Him to help us with something.
In our story today, Jesus and His mother, Mary, were at a wedding. The people ran out of wine to drink, so Mary asked Jesus to help. And do you know what He did? He turned water into wine!
(Show your water and wine or grape juice.)
Can you turn water into wine? Do you think I can turn water into wine?
None of us here can turn water into wine, but Jesus could. When Mary asked Jesus to help, He did! And we can trust Jesus to help us too. Even if no one else can help us, Jesus can.
Closing Prayer: Jesus, we thank You for always being available to help us. Remind us to pray to You when we have a need. Amen.
