Numbers 23 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Numbers 23:19

“God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?”

This is part of the message God put in Balaam’s mouth to deliver back to Balak; Balak and Balaam both were seeking something the Lord had already told them no about. What I love about this verse is this is something that God says about Himself, something He wants us to know about Him. That He is faithful, He is capable, and that He will never waiver or change on us! How refreshing it is for us who live in a day and age when things change in an instant. A world that says if you're not changing by the day, you are being left in the dust.

Our God is reminding us that He never changes, and neither does His Word. That outside of Him, we can’t count on things in this world to stay the same. They are getting worse by the day, but His promises are still yes and amen. This also helps us in times of being shamed or guilted by the enemy. He will try to throw up your past or current failures and tell you that God is done with you or that you will never measure up. The good news is we never have and never will be able to live up to the standard set before us, but Christ did! And if we belong to Christ, then God views us the way He does His Son who paid it all; with loving acceptance! Thank You, Jesus!

Micah 7:18,19- Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever because you delight in showing unfailing love. Once again, you will have compassion on us. You will trample our sins under your feet and throw them into the depths of the ocean!

God bless! I love you all, but His love trampled our sins under His feet! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!!!
