Psalm 90 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Psalm 90:4

A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.

We truly can’t fathom the bigness of our God! His timing and His time frames are beyond our comprehension. No man in history has ever lived a thousand years, yet to God, it is like a passing day or watch of the night. God created time, so He can’t be controlled or limited by it. The creation never controls the Creator!

For some of us that are in a waiting season, be encouraged! God has not forgotten about you! He hasn’t left you alone, nor is He done with you yet. He simply knows the perfect time to move and will wait for that exact moment. I know in my waiting seasons, I can grow impatient or restless, but every time I have waited on the Lord, it has been so much better than I could have imagined. Not only is the blessing better, but more importantly, I grow closer to God through my obedience to His command to wait.

It’s not easy, nor is it natural for us to wait: waiting isn’t something we humans are good at but something we can master through the power and person of the Holy Spirit. We must remember that our power and our strength in this world aren’t in our flesh but only from the One who is in us! When we wait on the Lord to move, we always get where we need to be right on time.

I encourage you, if you’re in a season of “waiting,” to rejoice in the God who has a plan and a purpose for your life. The God who loves you so much that He won’t move early just for your comfort but will wait and move when the time is right! Thank You, Jesus, for your patience in my weakness and guidance on when to move!

Isaiah 43:18,19- “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

God bless! I love you all, but His love patiently leads the way! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
