Isaiah 61 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Isaiah 61:3

and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of His splendor.

Thank You, Jesus! This passage is part of a prophecy of the coming Christ and the covenant Kingdom He will usher in. How gracious and kind is He! Though we deserve the ashes, mourning, and despair, He blesses us through Christ with so much more. I’m so thankful that our God doesn’t give us what we deserve but rather what He desires for us. We deserve death and destruction, yet He gives us life and fullness in Jesus Christ.

How powerful and beautiful is our God! How amazing His mercy and forgiveness! How righteous He is and how unrighteous we are, yet because of Jesus, we can be healed, forgiven, and remade into a people just for Him! If you are grateful today for all that He has given you and all that He has spared you from, then I challenge you to live in that heart-posture of reverence and worship today and every day forth. For God did not send His Son to stop us from coming to Heaven but to make the only way home. God is offering you something that no man can take or match, a personal and powerful freedom found only in His Son! Thank You, Lord!

John 3:17- For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

God bless! I love you all, but His love tore the curtain and opened the way! Praise, glory, and honor to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
