Jeremiah 33 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Jeremiah 33:14

“‘The days are coming,’ declares the LORD, ‘when I will fulfill the good promise I made to the people of Israel and Judah.’”

This is the LORD speaking through Jeremiah to the people about the coming promise, ultimately Jesus Christ! God made many promises to His people, but none were more important or powerful than the promise of the coming Messiah. The One who would redeem and restore, the One who would come and conquer, the One who would set the captives free!

This Jesus that they were promised is and always has been God’s perfect plan. I love verses like this one that point us to that truth. Christ wasn’t an after-thought or a contingency plan but the perfect plan from the beginning. Verses like these help us to remember that. Since the beginning, God had promised a Deliverer, one incorruptible and unstoppable Savior of the world.

We are blessed to be living in the days after Christ came, for what they longed to see, we freely enjoy. We must take advantage of this age of grace offered through Jesus Christ while it is still today! For no one knows what a day may hold, but we know who holds the day. Too many people have been lost waiting on tomorrow and tomorrow never comes. So, today is the day of salvation and the day the LORD has made; will we rejoice and be glad in it? We can accomplish both by humbly surrendering our lives to Christ and following Him in reverent worship; will we join Him in His fight for faith and freedom?

1 Timothy 6:11,12- But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

God bless! I love you all, but His love opened the door to Heaven and closed the door on the grave for all those who are called by His name! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
