Jeremiah 50 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Jeremiah 50:25

The LORD has opened His arsenal and brought out the weapons of His wrath, for the Sovereign LORD Almighty has work to do in the land of the Babylonians.

What a real and sobering reminder of what awaits the nation that chooses to reject the LORD. This is part of a prophecy the LORD gave Jeremiah against the Babylonian nation. A nation that chose idols instead of the Living God, a nation that chose to rejoice over the downfall of God’s people, a nation that oppressed and pillaged those around them, a nation that would not show mercy but rejoiced in evil. We see that a nation like that has but one thing coming, wrath.

God’s arsenal, His weapons, are far beyond our understanding and beyond our ability to stop or contain. He is not a man that He can be bribed or threatened into submission or relenting. He is not one to lie, nor does He withhold wrath at the time it is due.

Yet in all this, He offers mercy before the wrath, a way out before the way of destruction. He comes to us individually and intimately, speaking His truth to our hearts in hopes we will repent. God owes us nothing and yet gives us everything in Christ Jesus. He did not have to send His Son to save our souls, but He did it anyway.

There is wrath for the nation that rejects the LORD, but there is mercy for the one who receives Him. It must start individually before it will ever be seen internationally. The choice is ours; which nation will we be?

Psalm 51:17- My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.

God bless! I love you all, but His love is the bridge between life and death. Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
