Genesis 6 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Genesis 6:22

Noah did everything just as God commanded him.

Genesis 7:5- And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him.

Noah’s response to the Lord’s commands has got to be ours also! His heart posture of surrendered obedience is shown in his actions. He not only honors God in his heart but in the way he listens and obeys Him. How simple yet beautiful and powerful this is. God called Noah to do something bigger than him. But He didn’t call him or expect him to figure it out on his own but rather to just walk in humble obedience, and the Lord would do the rest.

When the Lord calls us to something, He doesn’t need our help – just our obedience. Free will is real, and obedience is a love language to our God! I believe one of the greatest ways to say I love you to God is to read and obey His Word. To surrender and submit to it even when the whole world says we’re wrong. To honor the truth above our feelings, thoughts, or upbringings. The Bible tells us that Noah was righteous, blameless, and faithful, but it doesn’t say he was sinless. This shows us that though he wasn’t perfect, his heart was inclined toward God in humble surrender and obedience.

Noah’s heart and actions set him apart from the world; God took note and showed him favor and had mercy on him and his family. He loved God, and his actions proved it! What are our actions saying about us today?

Genesis 6:7-9- So, the LORD said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.

God bless! I love you all, but His love brought salvation! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit.
