Numbers 11 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Numbers 11:31

Now a wind went out from the LORD and drove quail in from the sea. It scattered them up to two cubits deep all around the camp, as far as a day’s walk in any direction.

Can we just marvel at the bigness of our God? As I was reading this, I wondered, how much is that really? And according to Google, two cubits are about 3 feet deep, and a man can walk about 20-30 miles in a day. Our God is awesome, amazing, and all-powerful! How blessed we are to be His children. To not only be provided for in this life but the next. He loves us and cherishes us, and desires to provide for us in many different ways. Granted, this time didn’t turn out that well for the Israelites because they had turned from Him, but we still see His mercy and provision, even in the midst of their sin.

Are we honoring God with everything we have, or is He a footnote in our lives? Our God is not an option but should be our only option. When we are faced with the choice of honoring God or honoring our flesh, what will we choose? When Jesus stepped out of Heaven and into that manger, He knew exactly what He was stepping into, and yet He did it anyway. He counted the cost and decided it wasn’t too high to pay to bring many sons and daughters back to the Father! Thank You, Jesus!

Hebrews 2:9-11- But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because He suffered death so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what He suffered. Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.

God bless! I love you all, but His love stepped down out of glory to save us! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
