Numbers 9 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Numbers 9:4,5

So Moses told the Israelites to celebrate the Passover, and they did so in the Desert of Sinai at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month. The Israelites did everything just as the LORD commanded Moses.

The Israelites celebrated the Passover, even though they were still in the wilderness. They didn’t wait till they made it through the wilderness to celebrate their God and His redemption and deliverance but did it right where they were! They didn’t let their circumstances determine their worship, obedience, and reverence for their God. Can we say the same?

As we walk through these spiritual, emotional, mental, and sometimes even physical wildernesses in this life, are we as faithful as the Israelites were that day? Will we honor and celebrate our God even when we can’t see the Promised Land or the light at the end of the tunnel? Are we waiting till we get where we’re going to look back and praise Him for all He is and all He has done, or are we willing to do it in the midst of the storm?

Unfortunately, we live in a fallen world, and sometimes, the deliverance comes in ways we wouldn’t want or expect, and sometimes, it doesn’t come at all in this life. People get sick, jobs are lost, families are broken, but our God is still good! He is still worthy of all praise regardless of the season we are in. I’m not saying that this is going to be easy, but today, let’s not look at the season we are in or the wilderness we may be trudging through, but instead, let’s focus our hearts and minds on the God who said we were worth it when He stepped down out of Heaven to set us free! Thank You, Jesus!

John 6:37-39- “All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of Him who sent me. And this is the will of Him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those He has given me, but raise them up at the last day.”

God bless! I love you all, but His love bridged the gap that no man could! Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
